Secret Service Agents On Arnold & Porter Associate's Detail Fired Shots During Attempted Car Break-In
That associate is also the president's granddaughter, so that explains a lot.
President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden, is an associate at Arnold & Porter, and accordingly, has a Secret Service detail (for that first part, not because she’s a Biglaw associate). Over the weekend, those agents were called into action when they witnessed three individuals trying to break into an unmarked Secret Service vehicle.
As reported by the Associated Press, the incident took place on Sunday night in the Georgetown neighborhood. One agent discharged their weapon, but it is not believed that anyone was injured.

One of the agents opened fire, but no one was struck by the gunfire, the Secret Service said in a statement. The three people were seen fleeing in a red car, and the Secret Service said it put out a regional bulletin to Metropolitan Police to be on the lookout for it.
It isn’t known if Naomi Biden heard the incident as it developed outside.
